A steady advocate for Alabama businesses, families, and communities
For more than 25 years, Christie Knowles has been the person clients call when they need someone level-headed, experienced, and genuinely invested in their success. Her practice spans business law, estate planning, litigation, and municipal work — but clients most often describe her simply as “the one who gets things done.”
Christie brings a rare balance of toughness and warmth. She’s known for her grit in the courtroom, her practical approach to problem-solving, and the personal attention she gives every client, from large corporations to family-owned businesses and nonprofits. When legal issues feel overwhelming, she brings clarity, structure, and a plan.
Business counsel rooted in real-world experience
Christie has guided companies of all sizes through formation, growth, contracts, restructuring, and ownership transitions. She regularly serves as outside counsel to businesses across industries — manufacturing, construction, retail, healthcare, real estate, and more.
Clients value that she explains complex issues in plain language and helps them make decisions that protect the business today while preparing for the future.
Her work also includes representing nonprofits, advising boards, and helping charitable organizations launch, govern, and fulfill their missions.
Skilled in the courtroom — strategic outside of it
Christie has served as lead litigation counsel in state, federal, and administrative courts throughout Alabama and beyond. She is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and multiple U.S. District Courts.
Her extensive appellate experience — including published opinions and oral arguments before the Eleventh Circuit — gives her a unique ability to spot issues early and protect clients long before a dispute becomes a lawsuit.
Christie is also a certified mediator - using her many years of legal experience helping others resolve conflicts outside of the courtroom.
Clients appreciate that she works hard to keep them out of court when possible, but is fully prepared to fight for them when needed.
Estate planning that brings peace of mind
Many of Christie’s long-term business clients trust her not only with their companies, but also with personal planning. She has significant experience in wills, trusts, succession planning, powers of attorney, and strategies that reduce burden and confusion for families.
Her approach is practical, compassionate, and centered on making the process as straightforward as possible.
Deep commitment to community
Christie’s service extends beyond the office. She has held leadership positions with the Gadsden-Etowah Chamber of Commerce, Gadsden Cultural Arts Foundation, Big Oak Ranch, United Way, local hospitals, financial institutions, and numerous nonprofit and civic organizations.
Colleagues describe her as someone who shows up, lifts others, and leads with integrity — qualities clients feel the moment they work with her.
